Corian The Artificial Stone

Corian is very famous these days. Many of the designers and architects are using this artificial Stone. Corian is brand name created by DupontDuPont, is an American chemical company and developed many polymers, one of them is corian. It is composed of acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate (ATH). Corian is manufactured in three thicknesses: 6 millimetres (0.24 in), 12 millimetres (0.47 in), and 19 millimetres (0.75 in) It can be cut, routed, drilled, sculpted, bent, or worked like a fine wood. Because it is man-made, Corian countertops come in a variety of colors and patterns – over 100 different colors to be exact.

Corian CounterTop

Corian Help Desk

Corian countertops are easy to clean, and they are not affected by chemicals in common household cleaners but harsh cleaners or chemicals like oven cleaners. They are also resistant to stains as they are non-porous. To keep your countertop looking its best, you should clean the countertop and then dry it completely. This will keep water stains from dulling the countertop finish. With proper cleaning, Corian countertops also resist mold, mildew, and bacteria. It prevents dirt and grime from getting in the cracks between the different surfaces. so if they are damaged, they can be repaired depending on the type of damage.Minor scratches can be buffed out using a special cleaning pad pretty easily. Very fine scratches can be rubbed away with a cleaner like Soft Scrub. More detailed instructions to removing scratches and cuts can be found on DuPont’s website. The main drawback to Corian countertops is that they are not heat resistant. Because they are made of plastic, they can scorch easily beyond repair. Over time, Corian countertops require more frequent cleaning to maintain their finish and color. Darker colors seem to need more attention than lighter colors. The appearance of the finish on the countertop will likely change, even with proper care. Refurbishing can be done by the owner.

Sandstone and Quartzite

The term sandstone refers to the sand sized (0.06 to 2.0 mm) clasts that are cemented together by other agents. Therefore, sandstone could be of any mineralogy, but the overwhelming majority of sandstones on the market are quartz-based.Exterior cladding is also a common application, although this stone variety is typically used in thicker sections than other stone types due to lower bending strengths. While sandstone has been used in both countertop and shower lining applications, the varieties that are suitable for these installations are limited.Quartzite can be of exceptional strength, density, and hardness. The strength, abrasion resistance, and weathering durability of this rock type expand its application possibilities to include most any of the common uses for natural, dimension stone.
